Hello, my little friend. It is bedtime now. Please close your eyes, take a slow deep breath, and listen quietly. Tonight, I will tell you a gentle bedtime story about a little star who could not sleep. High up in the sky, far above the soft white clouds, there lived a little star. She was small, but she shined very brightly. Every night, the little star loved to sparkle and light up the dark sky. She watched the world below and smiled when she saw children sleeping in their warm beds. But one quiet night, something felt different. The little star could not sleep. She turned left and then turned right. She closed her eyes, then opened them again. “I cannot sleep,” the little star whispered softly. Below her, the houses were dark, the streets were quiet, and the world was resting. But the little star stayed awake, shining and thinking and shining some more. The little star looked up and saw the moon glowing gently nearby. The moon looked calm and kind. “Moon,” the little star said in a small, tired voice, “why can’t I sleep tonight?” The moon smiled warmly and spoke in a soft, slow voice. “Little star, your light is very busy. You shine too bright, and you think too much. When your mind is busy, your body cannot rest.” The little star listened carefully. “What should I do?” she asked. The moon waved her gentle hand, and soft clouds floated closer. “Lie down on the clouds,” the moon said. “Breathe slowly, and let your light become soft and quiet.” The little star lay down on the warm, fluffy clouds. They felt safe and comfortable, like a soft bed in the sky. She took a deep breath in, and then slowly breathed out. In… and out… In… and out… Her bright light slowly became softer. Her eyes began to feel heavy. The night sky was peaceful, and everything was calm and still. The little star gave a small yawn. “I feel sleepy now,” she whispered. The moon smiled and watched over her. “Good night, little star,” the moon said gently. The little star closed her eyes. She no longer shined brightly. She shined softly and quietly, like a tiny night light in the sky. Slowly, very slowly, the little star fell asleep. Now the little star is sleeping peacefully on her cloud. The moon is watching kindly from above. The night is quiet and safe. My little friend, it is time for you to sleep too. Close your eyes, relax your body, and breathe slowly. You are safe. You are loved. Good night, and sweet dreams.
